Both an M.D. and N.D. are trained in the same medical courses (anatomy, physiology, pathology, clinical physical diagnosis, etc.). The main difference is that an N.D. has a deeper understanding of biochemistry and how nutritional cofactors are important to physiology. We focus on healing the root cause of disease rather than palliating symptoms with drugs or surgery. N.D.’s are experts in health and we have many tools to improve your mind, body and spirit. We use the least invasive means possible to treat our patients. We employ diet and nutrition, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, and botanical medicine to treat complex medical cases with success. Traditional medical care saves lives and is amazing at acute care. N.D.’s often have solutions to problems western medicine is baffled by. We also spend time with our patients and want to know about their lives. I believe the combination of N.D.’s working with M.D.’s is the best option for the patient’s care.

A Naturopathic Doctor goes to 4 years of medical school and must pass their medical boards to receive their license to practice. N.D.’s use many different modalities to treat disease and sometimes use homeopathic medicines if they completed a separate program in homeopathy. Homeopaths only use homeopathic remedies to treat conditions. I am both a Naturopathic Doctor and a certified Homeopath.

Your first visit will be 1 hour long. I will take an extensive medical history and answer any questions you have about your health.

I like to follow up with you 3-6 weeks after our first appointment. If the situation is acute, I will see you 1 week after our first meeting. Depending on your situation I like to follow up every 6-8 weeks to support you in the changes we are making to your health. Eventually, as you are feeling better, I will follow up with you twice a year or as needed.

I run LabCorp, Quest Diagnostics and specialty labs. For a list of the specialty labs see my resource library. I am very picky about what lab I use for each test. I want to know that if you run a test, we will get the best possible information. I have researched each lab and use the best lab for any testing we will perform. I also take into consideration cost. I only recommend the essential tests that are needed, to understand you or your child’s condition. I do not believe in running several tests at once, I have found that if you run the right tests first you can gain information that will save you time and money over time.

I believe everyone is unique and has different nutritional needs. I do not put everyone on one particular diet. Instead, I believe food sensitivities play a major role in health and epigenetics. I will help create a diet specific to what you or your child needs. I often see kids that are picky eaters. I can also help design a food plan to expand their diet and balance their blood sugar. In some cases, I will suggest a diet. Please see my resource library for more information on the diets I use.

The most important thing to understand is that the quality and efficacy of supplements is directly linked to the quality of ingredients and the quality of formulations. Supplements available at major retailers like Target, Wal-Mart, GNC, grocery stores, and wholesale outlets are not made from quality ingredients and are poorly formulated resulting in poor efficacy. I have researched and tested the supplement lines available in my clinic, and I only carry the very best formulations for your health needs.

No. I do not prescribe drugs on a regular basis and would like you to see a doctor or nurse practitioner that uses this method regularly. I have a wonderful network of referral partners to send you to if you need prescription medications.

I really enjoy working with other therapists, doctors, nurse practitioners, acupuncturists etc. I believe we all have talent in our areas of expertise and if we work together we can give you the best possible care.
